Just as children need to be taught to read and write, they need to be taught how to run, jump, and throw. After all, movement is a childs first language, and our ability
to move is the most fundamental means we have of interacting with our world. This is Physical Literacy.(Active for Life www.activeforlife.ca)
Join us in this interactive speaker series as Andie Pask, PISEs Physical Literacy Coordinator, discusses the basics of physical literacy, the role of parents in providing physical literacy to their children and practical ways to teach fundamental movement skills to set a foundation for a lifetime of physical activity. Children are encouraged to attend to participate in the activities!
