Thursday, September 19th, 2019
7:30 PM to 9:30 PM

Dr. Brendan Burke (Associate Professor, UVic) and Dr. Trevor Van Damme (Limited Term Assistant Teaching Professor, UVic) will co-present a lecture entitled:

“Archaeological Research in Central Greece: UVic’s Project at Ancient Eleon”

Research at ancient Eleon engages UVic students and faculty, along with international colleagues, with the hands-on study of the ancient Greek world.

This co-presented talk provides an overview of the University of Victoria’s excavation at ancient Eleon, a multi-period site in central Greece. This talk will focus on religious activity of the Archaic and Classical periods, subjects of study by several team members.

The Classical Association of Vancouver Island is UVic’s organization for people interested in the Greek and Roman worlds. Monthly lectures by local and international scholars take place at UVic.

Everyone is welcome.
