Threading it all together is Burdett’s sultry voice, a smoky mezzo -soprano” - Victoria Times Colonist British Columbia chanteuse, Cari Burdett, performs a timeless, genre-defying, european fusion of opera, folk, jazz and world music.
Burdett cites Edith Piaf, Joni Mitchell, Lhasa De Sela, Nina Simone, Maureen Forrester, Mecedes Sosa and Kathleen Ferrier as in uences and holds a vocal music degree from Montreal’s McGill University and a Master’s degree from London’s Royal Academy of Music. Her live show is “a world tour in one night,” musically moving from country to country and from language to language, her repertoire also features Canadian and BC composers.
Cari will be joined by Miles Black on piano, Richard Moody on violin, and Sean Drabbit on bass.
