Canadian Tea Harvest

Friday, July 1st, 2016

On Friday July 1, we invite you to raise a cup and celebrate a national first. As Canada’s only working tea farm we are excited about releasing the first estate-grown Canadian tea.

Enjoy the taste of pure Canadian tea with us on July 1+2+3.

The journey to the first Canadian tea began as an experiment in 2010, planting 200 Camellia sinensis seedlings on the south-facing slopes of the farm. The young plants survived the first deep freeze of winter, and have since thrived in the local climate. Another 400 plants were added in 2014 and 200 more in 2015. After six years of work and waiting, we are proud to share our harvest, a premium green tea made from the leaves and buds of the first spring flush.

Margit has created commemorative handbuilt cups for sale that will be the vessel for your first sip of locally grown tea.

Be part of tea history and enjoy an experience you will not find anywhere else.

On July 1+2+3 we will be offering this limited release pouring of our first harvest tea at 10:30, 12:30, 2:30 and 4:30 Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The purchase of a commemorative Margit Nellemann ceramic cup will be your ticket to a one-of-a-kind tea experience.

There has never been a tea like this.

Revel in your first sip of estate-grown Canadian tea, and share in a moment of tea history.
