Nanaimo is filled with exciting arts and cultural entertainers who would love an opportunity to be discovered by a larger audience. The ultimate goal of Canada Day Organizing Committee is to give the residents of Nanaimo an opportunity to celebrate Canada Day with their neighbours and to showcase talented local community members.

Canada Day is an annual celebration of Canada�s Birthday that takes place on July 1st every year. 2011 marks Canada�s 144th birthday. The event starts with the formal parade of flags and opening ceremony. Nanaimo�s Canada Day combines a wonderful waterfront location, with energetic entertainment, roving clowns, face painting, multicultural foods and fun for the whole community. This daylong event creates an opportunity for Nanaimo to celebrate as a large family on July 1, 2011.
