We haven’t had a poetry festival on the island since 2012, and we are pleased and proud to say that the rumours are true – Poetry Gabriola is doing it again! Although it’s on a smaller scale than in the past, we believe we are onto something BIG!
This weekend will feature Four Strong Voices ~ award-winning poet Marilyn Bowering; Victoria’s current Poet Laureate, Yvonne Blomer; poet, playwright, and actor Tina Biello; and rising Vancouver poetry star Kayla Czaga, as well as Gabriola poetry personalities to be announced.
Rounding out the evening will be performances by the PGS Improviser’s Collective and special guests. There will be a cash bar, book sales, and probably some of the hijinks you’ve come to expect from your favorite poetry producers.
