4:00 PM to 5:00 PM

These Thursday Beginner Step Dance/Clog Dance classes are lively, gentle and as Covid-safe as possible.

All beginner steps will be taught in lines with no hand holdin' and huggin' during the pandemic. A partner can be fun to have but is not necessary and all beginner steps will be reviewed each week. Don't worry if you need to be absent a week or two. The instructor will give you access to the beginner clog dance video lessons.

Jingle taps can be glued easily to most used, low-heeled, smooth soled street shoes (not sticky runners with grip) and the jingle taps will be available from the instructor the first 3 fall classes. It is optional, and not at all necessary, to purchase the standard, somewhat expensive clog dance shoes (although some participants do prefer to go that route each year).

Music for all tastes such as Celtic, Country, Swing, Canadian and Broadway. Please bring a mask, a water bottle, $5 cash and a smile to Nanoose Place each Thursday...and please stay home if you are NOT well.

Suitable for Adults, Seniors, Singles, Youth and Home Learners 12+.

In the second and third year of clog dancing, there are opportunities for the group to dance for local small festivals and seniors' homes. If new beginners are not interested, then come along anyway to the classes and be prepared to laugh more than you have since the pandemic began. Due to the pandemic, participants are asked to depart the hall promptly at 5:00 so the Easy Intermediate class can be as Covid safe as possible. Once the pandemic is over, beginners may linger, watch and even join the Intermediate class.

We must all be patient and nimble as class changes continue to happen on short notice. Please phone the instructor two days before the first class to put your name on her list and to receive the most current info about possible class changes.
