Vancouver Island University and Hinkkala and Associates are pleased to present their third annual concert featuring a world renowned Jazz artist. This year’s guest is jazz drummer Ari Hoenig. Jazz Times magazine calls him “One of the most maniacally obsessive, spasmodic and musical drummers in jazz.” Mr. Hoenig will be presenting workshops and master classes over three days and his visit will culminate with a performance with the VIU Big Band. This is a great opportunity to hear one of the busiest drummers on the jazz scene right here in Nanaimo.
