Alpine Wine Festival on Mount Washington

Join us for an unforgettable evening in the mountains on Friday, August 12, at Mount Washington’s annual Alpine Wine Festival. Enjoy a variety of delicious wine samples and gourmet food while you soak in the live music and stunning mountain views overlooking Strathcona Provincial Park
Relish in the intimate guitar music of Chilean-born virtuoso Rodrigo Figueroa, who returns to the festival by popular demand to perform his exceptional mix of Latin- and Blues-inspired melodies. Figueroa’s intricate, emotional guitar songs frequent the CBC and he has performed at festivals throughout the Pacific Northwest, playing with legends such as Sting and Chick Corea.
By popular demand, the event will once again feature an informative wine seminar, presented by Jeff Lucas of Cascadia Liqour, 6.45-7.15pm in the courtyard.
There will also be a silent auction on the night with all proceeds going to the VI Mountain Sports Society.
Tickets are $30, which include entry, 8 sampling tickets, a souvenir glass and a small selection of light, gourmet appetizers. Additional sample tickets will be available for purchase on the night at $1 per ticket.
For an additional $20, you can also enjoy the gourmet BBQ dinner on the sundrenched patio, which includes your choice of carved striploin, supreme chicken breast or filet of salmon. The main course will be served alongside tossed house greens, spinach and strawberry salad, and fresh potato and yam salad, as well as the hot choices of rice pilaf and green bean almondine.
A return shuttle from A&W (2840 Cliffe Ave, Courtenay) is available for $10 (round trip). Pick-up is at 5:15pm and drop-off is at 10pm. Space is limited and priority will be given to those who preregister online.
