Most of us rely on the old standby: roast turkey, potatoes, gravy, stuffing and vegetables. This year, why not branch out and try Indian during the holidays? This meal is centered around one of Northern India�s most celebrated baked rice dishes: biryani. Participants will learn about the separate components that go into the dish and the possible variations. Traditionally, biryani is a staple at major festivals and weddings.
Menu:
chicken biryani - an elaborate baked rice dish cooked in layers in a sealed pot with spiced chicken, spices, nuts and saffron
bhindi masala - sauteed okra with tomatoes, onions and chilis
seekh kebab - roasted sausage-like kebabs
kachumber salad
raita
gulab jamun (dessert)
