6th Annual �Maple Syrup Day�
at Harbour House on Salt Spring Island
takes place on February 9

Salt Spring Island, BC � January 27, 2014 � Family Day weekend is fast approaching and, with it, our 6th Annual Maple Syrup Day. On February 9th, 2014 Harbour House Hotel, Restaurant and Organic Farm will be hosting their much anticipated 6th Annual Maple Syrup Day. From 10 am to 2 pm, the Farm will be sweetly covered by the smell of maple sap boiling into our own maple syrup.

A visit to the Maple Syrup Day makes a great family outing. Come and spend the day on our farm with many activities - taste the sap fresh from our own big leaf maple trees, taste the sweet maple syrup from previous years, take a farm tour and watch a tapping demonstration conducted by our farm manager, Rob Scheres, and enjoy story telling under the Maple Tree with Usha.

The birds on the farm will not be the only ones singing, we will have local entertainers Wesley Hardisty and Billie Woods playing for us throughout the day.

Maple Syrup has an enormous cultural importance in Canada and experiencing the sap boil, watching the tapping demonstration and tasting the syrup here on Salt Spring Island is an event that should not be missed.

Admission is FREE and we will be serving Maple Hot Chocolate and Buttermilk mini pancakes. The Restaurant will be serving special features for the weekend such as Maple Gelato, Maple Earl Grey shortbread with creme br�l�e and maple dressing.

Harbour House is located at 121 Upper Ganges Road on Salt Spring Island and the farm is right behind the hotel with plenty of parking and family friendly accommodations. Take advantage of our low rates and make a sweet getaway to Salt Spring for a Maple Syrup experience.
