Saturday, February 22nd, 2014
10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

This interactive and entertaining annual presentation featuring Mayo Clinic-trained heart attack survivor and women's health activist CAROLYN THOMAS takes a uniquely informed look at women's #1 killer - heart disease.

Many women are shocked to learn heart disease is our biggest health threat. Over 80% of women have at least one major risk factor for heart disease, which kills more women than men each year. Heart disease also kills six times more women per year than breast cancer, and more women die from heart disease than from all cancers combined. And that stat has been true since 1984!

At Carolyn's popular public talks (described as "part cardiology bootcamp and part stand-up comedy!") you'll learn about heart attack symptoms that may surprise you, emerging research from Mayo Clinic and other global cardiac institutions on tests and treatments that could save you, personal lessons learned from a heart attack survivor to inspire you, as well as how to understand your own unique risk factors and some heart-healthy ways to address them.

Registration includes coffee, tea and heart-smart brunch goodies. Although focused primarily on women's heart health, this talk is OPEN TO ALL! Invite a woman you care about to register with you.
