Salt Spring Island has a fine crop of ORGANIC apples this year and so their iconic Apple Festival will be FABULOUS, highlighting the 450 varieties of ORGANIC apple grown there. The 18 farm hosts will also show the many complementary activities that make Salt Spring a hotbed for organic agriculture. “Our commitment has always been to provide an outstanding Festival,” said organizer Harry Burton, “and we love to connect people with great apples and the farms/farmers growing them.

Ultimately we want everyone to become ANOTHER SALT SPRING ISLAND APPLE CONNOISSEUR." The Festival is an incredible community event attracting visitors from the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island and the United States.

With a display of the island’s hundreds of apple varieties at Fulford Hall and about 18 farms welcoming visitors for tours, tastings, apple sales and delicious lunch offerings, the Festival has always delivered a great experience.

-Display of HUNDREDS of apples all grown organically on Salt Spring Island
-Tasting of more than 75 apple varieties at just one farm (Apple Luscious). Most others have tasting of their own varieties
-At least 12 labeled varieties of apple pies baked by the Pie Ladies
-A rich history of apples going back to 1860

-Apple art by local artists
-FREE FACE PAINTING for all.

Enjoy a FABULOUS Lunch by chefs including: Thai food, BBQ pork, Smoked Beans, Full Menu Restaurant, Smoke Pulled Pork, Tapaz Bites, Cob Oven Pizza, Local cheese. Desserts include: The Pie Ladies, Apple crisp, Yummy goodies.

YOU WILL BE DELIGHTED WITH THE FOOD. Salt Springers are very proud of their apples and the incredible collections we amass at Fulford Hall for every Apple Festival, is a sight to take your breath away. The scent of apples when you enter the room will take your soul on a journey. Last year, we had 372 apple varieties all grown organically on Salt Spring Island, arranged alphabetically and all with detailed labels.
