Why is this man wearing a pink shirt?
Maybe it was a Valentine's Day gift. Maybe it was a red sock/white shirt laundry accident. Perhaps he recently read that statistically, men who wear pink tend to earn more than men who don't. A fact, by the way.
Or maybe he just likes pink.
The truth is that we just don't know why, and it doesn't matter. Like every one of us, he has a right to be himself without fear of being teased, threatened...or worse. Bullying is a serious problem in our schools, workplaces and communities, and Pink Shirt Day on February 24th is one way for us to demonstrate our commitment against it.
Statistically, men who wear pink are also more assertive, confident and willing to take risks. And that's exactly what we all need to be to prevent bullies from thriving.
Be a pink shirt wearer.
