Everyone loves a handmade gift.
Not nearly as many people like to handmake them, though.
The marvelous people who can and do create artful, functional and beautiful items make it look easy.
The rest of us think: Hey, I could do that. You can take your chances, Martha... but six weeks away from the heart of the Christmas season might not be the ideal time to figure out how to put together your grandma's loom.
