Young Naturalists' Club - Planting Garry Oaks in Duncan
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
Join us in planting young Garry oak trees at Cowichan Garry Oak Preserve, a 52-acre conservation area home to one of the last and best remnants of Garry oak ecosystems and its associated biodiversity in the world. Garry oaks are the only native oak trees in western Canada, so come on out and help us to restore this incredibly diverse habitat together! This will be a great opportunity for the kids to feel like they are part in making a difference in preserving nature.
Nature Conservacy Canada (NCC) will take us for a nature walk after we plant some trees.
Meet at Garry Oaks Preserve, 1241 Maple Bay Road, Duncan.
Bring a hat, snack, sunscreen, shovel, gloves.
