Join us for a workshop on the nuts and bolts of land access. Young Agrarians Land Linking Workshops bring together landholders and farmers seeking land to network, explore possible land matches, and learn from land access experts and farmers and land owners who’ve already been matched!
Our B.C. Land Matching Program Manager Darcy Smith and Azja Jones Martin, Land Matcher for Vancouver Island, are heading to Cowichan Station for the day to help farmers and landholders across the Island and Gulf Islands understand land leasing and other land arrangements. We’ll be sharing key questions to ask, legal considerations, how to assess and manage risk, and how to build and maintain stable land agreements that are mutually beneficial. Plus, farmers and land owners who are land sharing will share their perspectives on leasing, farm start up, and more.
Wondering if you should attend a Land Linking Workshop? Producers (and farmers-to-be) of all types are welcome, whether you grow veggies, raise animals (or bees!), or have some other farming project in mind. We encourage all landholders to join us, whether you’ve just started thinking about the possibility of making land available to lease, or you’ve already put a ton of thought into your vision for your land!
We can’t wait to land link with folks from across the island. We hope you’ll make the trip to spend the day meeting farmers, landowners, and potentially sparking connections that will lead to matches, leases, and so much more in the future.
