The Yiddish Columbia State Orchestra is a Big Bold Brassy Supergroup of some of The West Coast's finest musicians. It all started many years ago when Marion Siegel bagged a coveted Pagliacci's Restaurant gig on alternate Sundays. Back then there were few other Sunday night gigs, and what do musicians want to do on their night off? Play a different type of tune with their peers, with beers. Marion simply called 20 or so of the best working musicians, told them they'd get to play with other geniuses and get to come to her house for fabulous dinners on rehearsal nights. History was made. Any given alternate Sunday will find Marion and a half dozen of the hottest players around, rousing things up at Pag's.

The YCSO opened for the Symphony Splash 2 years ago. Marion boasts that they had over 3000 people singing in Yiddish,a Victoria record. The band has just released a Juno nominated cd called 'Seven Good Years". They regularly play to Standing Room Only crowds at Festivals. Not to be missed!!!
