Loving (2016)
How far would you go to stand up for the one you love? Edgerton and Negga shine in their respective roles as Mildred and Richard Loving, an inter-racial couple who, in 1958, staunchly faced the prejudice and injustice of their racially-divided society. With hardly any reference to the courtroom story itself, this understated and deeply compelling film recounts the true story of one of the biggest civil rights cases in U.S. history, shining a light on how far the U.S. has come and how far it has still to go in its views of equality.
