World Oceans Day Celebration

What is World Oceans Day, you ask? Think of it as Earth Day�s salty cousin. This U.N.-designated holiday was established to raise global awareness on issues relating to the ocean.

The Shaw Ocean Discovery Centre will be celebrating with a FREE event taking place on the grass behind the aquarium/Pier Hotel building. Activities will include:

-live performances by the Cascadian Crusaders
-kayak skills & drills with Sidney Whalewatching
-diving and creature search with Rockfish Divers
-ocean-themed games
-face painting

There will also be food, artists, and a variety of exhibitors,* including: Archipelago Marine, Ocean Networks Canada, Surfrider Foundation, and more! Bring your kids, your dog, and your desire to learn more about our beautiful oceans!
