Workshop: Cedar/Willow Bark Twill Tray

Using the contrasting colours and textures of red cedar and willow bark Joan Carrigan will teach you how to weave a striking block twill pattern base for this shallow tray basket. The sides of the tray will be twined with west coast sweetgrass. A sturdy fold down rim will finish off the basket. A discussion of how to harvest and prepare the tree barks for weaving will enable you to design and execute your own twill patterns.
Tools to Bring: sharp scissors, an old towel, spray bottle, ruler, curved upholstery needle.
