This three-hour workshop/question period will help you understand the strata documents every buyer should review and give you useful facts about the Strata Property Act and more.

Presented by Vancouver Island Strata Owners Association (VISOA), a non-profit organization which has been helping strata owners for 45 years, and Condo Clear Services Inc., an independent strata document review provider who bridges the information gap between potential buyers and the strata properties they are interested in.  

This three-hour workshop will prepare you to ask the right questions, before you buy a condo. • Why is a condo or townhouse called a strata?

• How to understand strata and realtor documents
• What are your Realtor’s responsibilities?
• Monthly fees – what is included, and what is not?
• Who pays for repairs?
• What are bylaws and rules? Do you have to follow them?
• What are your duties and responsibilities?
• What are the limitations of the strata corporation’s insurance?
• Professionally managed or self-managed – what is the difference?
• And most importantly, is strata living right for you?
