Works of HeART Show - A Christmas Gift. DECEMBER 4 to JANUARY 6
The Nanaimo Arts Council and Works of HeART Project have joined forces to host an impactful, multimedia art exhibition called the ‘Works of HeART Show’. This is no ordinary exhibit. It comes with a powerful reminder that racism, bigotry and intolerance are still prevalent today and must be continually challenged.
The premise of this unique, month-long show is based on Chief Dan George’s quote; “The heart never knows the colour of the skin” and celebrates diversity and multiculturalism through an eclectic and dynamic blend of art, music and video.
The art exhibition runs Monday to Friday, December 4, 2018 to January 6, 2019, 9 am to 5 pm at the 78 Wharf Street Gallery in Nanaimo.
As it is intended as a ‘Christmas gift’ to the public, admission will be free – from their heart to yours.
For anyone interested in knowing more about the show, enjoying multicultural music, theatrical performance, meeting the artists, and learning more about the Works of HeART Project, you are invited to a unique Opening Reception on Friday, December 7 at 6-8 pm - also at the 78 Wharf Street Gallery. (Corner of Commercial and Wharf Street underneath Mon Petit Choux Bakery.)
Free admission and refreshments will be provided at the reception.
The exhibited art will be featured in a film Works of HeART is producing to inspire people worldwide to make a difference. Their goal is to show the film to schools, youth groups, organizations and on social media.
