Working with Gold Leaf: Bring on the Bling

Learn how to apply gold leaf and to bring its warmth and beauty into your art. In this course, we will be incorporating gold leaf into three artworks that we will be completing in class.
Each piece will use gold leaf in its composition in different ways – as separate shapes and integrated within other shapes. Gold leaf can be challenging to work with at first, but with a little practice you will be able to handle it with confidence.
Special materials will be provided as part of the course fee. Participants will receive a list of basic supplies to bring prior to class.
Instructor: Laila Jensen is a mixed media artist, using plaster, pastes and papers, inks and ink pencils, chalk pastels and metallic leaf. She achieved Signature Status with the Federation of Canadian Artists in 2021 and won first place in the Federation’s Abstracted Exhibition in 2020.
