Wordstorm Open Mic and Poets in the Library!

November 4th will see visiting poets, Heidi Greco and Barbara Pelman share their work at the Vancouver Island Library’s, North Nanaimo branch.
An open mic will begin this event which starts at 1:00 pm.
Early arrival is recommended, if you intend to share at the open mic.
$10.00 at the door.
Greco, a resident of Surrey, BC., has been an advocate for the literary arts in her community and was instrumental in convincing her city to hire an official Poet Laureate. Her books include a novella, Shrinking Violets, which was co-winner of the Ken Klonsky Award in 2011.
Pelman has been an active participant in the Victoria writing community, is a member of the Random Acts of Poetry team, a regular reader at Planet Earth Poetry, and the instigator of Victoria’s “Poetry Walls” created by her students, in the downtown core. Borrowed Rooms is her second book of poetry, following One Stone, published in 2005 by Ekstasis Editions
