2018 Women’s march on the Comox Valley
In 2017 over 500 community members gathered in Courtenay to rise against gendered violence as part of a global movement recognizing women’s rights as human rights.
Our goal for 2018 is to celebrate resistance and resilience; to honor courage, and strength; and to support movement building and grassroots organizing locally.
We invite you to join us on the courthouse lawn Saturday January 20th at 10am to march in solidarity resisting gender based violence, colonization and all other forms of oppression and to promote the realization of a welcoming community inclusive of race, gender, orientation, class, age or ability.
We want to acknowledge that we will be gathering on the unceded territory of the K'omoks First Nation, and that the folks who collaborated to organize this event are settlers, grateful to live, laugh and love here.
