4:30 PM to 6:30 PM

Come to the 13th Annual Winter Solstice Celebration in the beautifully decorated Errington Hall (near Parksville). We start with the Ancient Solstice Tradition of a Cedar Spiral Walk by Candlelight, followed by Dances of Universal Peace.  The event is open and comfortable to everyone of all ages and paths. The Dances of Universal Peace honour all spiritual traditions.  Joyful, meaningful, deep and fun.

The Cedar Spiral Walk begins promptly at 4:30, and lasts about 30 minutes.  Then we push the cedar boughs aside and do a dance by candlelight, followed by other dances and song for all to participate in.  Children will enjoy the first hour the most; and then we move into deeper, more meditative dances.  Some children will love the whole event, but if the children get restless, it is easy to step out.

Everything is fully taught. Dances of Universal Peace are done worldwide as a way to inspire peace, build community, and honor all spiritual, wisdom traditions.  The dances and songs are simple and easy to learn.  The music we create together is beautiful and uplifting. No audience; no performers; no dogma; and no experience necessary. Everything is fully taught each time. It’s comfortable, joyful, fun, and deep. Open to the whole community – to every one of any age, tradition, background and belief. Community members from Campbell River to Nanaimo have been attending Dances of Universal Peace since 2003. We meet about once a month. You are wecome to join us anytime through the year.
