Join us for a “collage” of aspiring talented students from the VCM’s Winds & Brass Department, performing solo, chamber, and ensemble works on a variety of wind and brass instruments!

Our Collage Concerts showcase the immense range of talent within our department, featuring students of all ages and levels on a wide variety of wind and brass instruments, playing solo, chamber and ensemble repertoire. Attending a Collage concert will provide an invaluable experience for any aspiring wind and brass student of any age, to hear all sorts of repertoire performed, and have a chance to ask questions about learning to play music on any of the instruments featured.

About the VCM’s Winds and Brass Department:

The VCM boasts one of the finest faculties of Woodwinds and Brass instructors and performers in Western Canada. Our instructors work with the gifts and talents of each individual student to customize a program of study that is rich in tradition and innovation.

Our highly qualified faculty can meet the needs of any student at any level and any stage of development, be it beginner, intermediate or advanced. Students learning their first few notes, or preparing for school or orchestra auditions, festivals, competitions, examinations, or post-secondary study, will find that by working with our experienced faculty, they develop solid technique, are able to explore and master the repertoire, and feel confident performing, whether as a soloist or member of a chamber group or ensemble.

Chamber Music
Many instructors work regularly with chamber groups in a shared lesson setting. Bring your chamber group – same instrument, mixed winds, or mixed instrumentation – for a block of coaching sessions with one of our fine teachers. Don’t have a group but are interested in becoming part of one? Contact us and we’ll do our best to pair you with musicians of similar ability and interest.
