Oak Bay Arts and Culture Festival Opening ceremonies will take place Saturday August 8th at 1pm at the Willows Park Heritage Picnic. The public is invited to dress in their best vintage outfit and join in an afternoon of traditional picnicking, games and a Songhees fried bread and tea service.
At 1:30pm Tweed Riders will be welcomed to the grounds and are expected to create quite a spectacle!
At 2:00pm the Songhees First Nation will host the first cultural canoe ceremony to take place in Oak Bay in over a century, followed by canoe rides for the public.
Picnic lunches from the Kiwanis Tea Room can be pre-ordered online.
