Blues With Bite! Winners of the 2014 Maple Blues Award for New Artist or Group of the Year, Murray Kinsley and Wicked Grin have been rockin’ festivals and clubs throughout Ontario and Western Canada with their distinctive hard-driving, in-your-face performances: full-tilt blues with a groove that just won’t quit.
2014 was a stellar year in which Wicked Grin represented the Ottawa Blues Society in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in January, played the Ottawa Bluesfest, Kitchener Bluesfest, Calabogie Blues & Ribfest and Kingston Blues Festival, toured Western Canada and was runner-up in the Toronto Blues Society’s 2014 Talent Search.Several tunes from Wicked Grin’s latest album “Shame On Me” are getting widespread airplay, including on DAWG-FM and on Sirius/XM’s B.B. King’s Bluesville channel, and the album was chosen by Blues Underground Network as Best Canadian Blues Rock Album of 2014.
2015 will be a busy year for the band, with a Western Canada tour planned for March/April, an Eastern tour shaping up for October/November and several summer festivals already confirmed. As well, they are working on their next release, due in late 2015. www.wickedgrin.ca
