Join us for the first-annual light-up festival at Whippletree junction! Festivities start with a performance, opening and blessing by the Cowichan Spirit Drummers, to be followed by Mbira spirit; performing traditional music from Zimbabwe. There will be additional performances by a local band, playing rock-a-billy tunes and christmas music, plus middle-eastern folk dancing and more! Hot drinks and festive faire will be available and the businesses at Whippletree will be open for the festivities as well. People are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations to go around the "Trickle tree." Also accepted are warm coats, new toys for the Salvation Army toy-drive and, of course, monetary donations for the Food Basket society and the Salvation Army. Come for the lights, come for the party! Lots to do for all ages, including a variety of kids activities (face-painting, colouring, photo booth, etc..)
