2016 marks the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s legacy, and we are having a party! Join the Greater Victoria Shakespeare Festival in celebrating the greatest English dramatist in song, verse and cake.
Artistic Director Karen Lee Pickett is no stranger to site-specific theatre, and is particularly excited to embrace Craigdarroch Castle’s unique interior with February’s production of “Where There’s a Will”.
Meet the celebrity superstars of the 14th century, such as Elizabeth I, Christopher Marlowe, Anne Hathaway, and of course, Bill himself. Afterwards, you’ll have an opportunity to recite your favourite line or couplet as part of “We are Shakespeare”, a global video project initiative.
This production is a fundraiser for the Festival and will provide a vivacious opener to their exciting 2016 season, which will also include “The Winter’s Tale” and “Twelfth Night” in July.
“Where There’s a Will” promises to fill the Castle with music and laughter, so we recommend that all you groundlings book your tickets soon!
Information and tickets are available online and by phone at 250-592-5323.
Reservations are required. Tickets are $30 general admission and $28 for Castle Members (prices include GST).
Recommended for ages 13 and up.
This performance moves throughout the Castle, there are 87 stairs and no elevators or ramps. Please, no stiletto heels as they can damage our floors.
