The Celebration Singers are delighted to once again bring their exciting spring concert to the Sid Williams Theatre stage. You will laugh, clap, and be deeply touched as “Where the Earth Meets the Sky” takes you on a musical journey to remember.

Whether flying the outer reaches of the universe or walking gently upon the earth, the choir will amuse with the music of John Williams (Star Wars, E.T., etc) and will delight with a selection of Canadiana: 2 lovely choral arrangements by Brian Tate, as well as music by Shari Ulrich and David Myles. As the choir progresses through their program you will notice how deftly they incorporate multiple musical genres from gospel to folk, and chamber music to chants. And to top it all off, they will sing in 7 different languages. The singers and their loyal audiences alike enjoy this mix of diverse sound that rocks or soothes the soul, or is just plain fun.

Under the dynamic and deft direction of Jenn Forsland, this grassroots community choir has grown to be a favourite with music goers in the Comox Valley. The choir’s 85+ members perform complicated harmonies and have a beautiful, big sound and a unified heart bursting to share their passion for music. They will be joined by their long-standing, accomplished accompanist Sean Mooney on piano and additional musicians on percussion and guitar. This year the choir is honoured to share the stage with their guest performers the Cantiamo Chamber Ensemble under the direction of Jennifer Riley and Denise Marquette. This group’s youthful voices will add both their special magic and their polished sound to the show.
