Saturday, February 22nd, 1-3pm, WFWI presents: Fresh from the Organic Seed Growers Conference
"securing food and water in Alberni Clayoquot and Nuu Chah Nulth territories in a RAPIDLY changing climate"
Incorporation of the coop is in progress with Farm Folk City Folk taking the lead.
There are opportunities for locals to get involved as members or member collective(s).
The plan is for two 45 minutes sessions, mostly slide show, with a 15 minute break in between, 15 minutes for Q&A We will have a table with info and brochures and another table where WFWI will fund raise by selling seed, organic fair trade Cafe Feminino coffee beans and Jerusalem artichokes for planting which we promote as an emergency food supply that can be stored in the ground until needed. Also we will take orders for seedlings Mirabel Urban Farm will produce for WFWI this spring. Hosted by the Women's Food and Water Initiative. Admission by donation.
Char will sell brewed coffee, tea and goodies $3 from her cafe at The Landing.
