Event Summary: HR practitioners gather to top up their knowledge, share successes and lessons-learned, and take-away practical tips, tools and techniques. The topic for this session is an open format. Participants are encouraged to bring real-life HR-related scenarios, challenges/questions and/or best-practices that they would like to share and/or see discussed by the group. The Roundtable Leader will guide the dialogue and encourage participation.


Topic: OH&S Triple Bill of Topics An OH&S Triple Bill of topics addressing; Mental Disorder Issues / Respectful Workplaces / Bullying & Harassment Prevention and Response, “Accident” Investigations, and Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committees. Then we will open up questions and discussions and sharing on any OH&S topic. Bring along your questions and success stories! For more information you may send a message to the presenter!


Facilitator: R. Glenn Barned, CPHR, CHSC, CRSP, CES, is a Professional Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Consultant with RGB Enterprises. With over 30 years of experience in OH&S, Glenn has worked with both public and private sectors, achieving their OH&S goals. Glenn has been and continues to be an active volunteer with OH&S, Human Resources and Emergency Management.


Roundtable Lead: Jennifer Burgin, HR Manager for the Westin Bear Mountain golf Resort and Spa. Jennifer leads the HR department through its day to day operations including full-cycle recruitment, employee orientation and onboarding, benefits administration, provides coaching and resources to employees and managers. She assists the department managers in providing functional direction regarding Human Rights, Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Regulation and all other applicable legislation. Jennifer is passionate about helping people, building futures, development, growth, goal setting, and fostering stability and hope. While taking care of her two energetic girls she completed a Post Degree Diploma in Leadership and HR Management from Camosun College. Jennifer is thrilled to take on the latest challenge of leading the Westshore Roundtables.
