DERRILL SHUTTLEWORTH

Derrill did his first architectural rendering at age 14, and later attended Alberta College of Art to formally learn the skills of his trade.
In the 30 years since then, he�s honed his skills in professional work for numerous commercial and private clients. Derrill has never forgotten to have fun sketching and painting in life drawing sessions; caf�s; clubs and in plein air (often using house beer or ocean water as his medium). He is always on the lookout for the special instant that defines the moment.
His life studies have found an appreciative audience in Canada, France, Wales, England and Holland. His works grace many homes and office walls in Alberta, British Columbia and Nova Scotia. Over the years he has also done many commissions for private collectors.
Having vacationed on Gabriola for the last ten years, Derrill and his partner Laurence could no longer resist neither the call of the ocean nor the vibrant artistic community and so, moved permanently to the island this July.
