Watercolour: Art and Science
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
Throughout history, art and science co-existed in the form of botanical and zoological drawings; diagrams of the earth’s structure and our solar systems; and in the form of medical illustrations, to give but a few examples.
This course will use several branches of science such as botany, zoology, geology, astronomy, and human physiology as a point of departure for watercolour paintings. Watercolour is the selected medium because it can be used for both drawing and painting. Basic watercolour techniques will be covered, but the focus of the course is on responding to a scientific subject in an expressive and imaginative way. No watercolour experience is required.
