Iranian human rights advocate Hossein Raeesi will share his personal story as a lawyer and educator in Iran. His work standing up for minorities and marginalized communities challenged powerful forces in the Iranian government and ultimately forced him to flee. Hosted by Faculties of Education, Social Sciences, and International Education. This event is part of VIU’s celebration of International Development Week, February 6-10, 2017.
