3 sessions: April 30, May 7 & 14 ~ 10 am to 12 noon.

This course will examine the reciprocal relationship between selected works of art and the historical and political milieu in which they were created. It will look at how historical events motivated and shaped the creation of art and how, in turn, art sometimes attempted to influence and advance political and ideological agendas. The 19th century selections will focus on the responses to revolutionary changes; the 20th century selections will focus on reactions to war.

Located on main floor of Parksville/Qualicum campus building. Course ID: ELDS 007.
