VIRA PRESENTS PRIDE WEEK 2015 Saturday, June 13th, 2015 to Saturday, June 21st, 2015 We are dedicating this year’s celebration to our late President, John Lee. Saturday, June 13th. PICNIC. 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. Bowen Park lower picnic shelter (off Wall Street).

A fun, all-ages family-friendly event. Bring the kids, bring the dogs, and/or bring your parents. There will be hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, watermelon, pop, coffee, water, cake and Pride.

We’ll have the annual rubber ducky race on the river AND back by popular demand, pinatas – one for the kids and one for the adults. Vendors or entertainers contact the coordinator, Jen at [email protected].

Wednesday, June 17th. RAINBOW FLAG RAISING. 6:00 pm. At City Hall. Rainbow Flag Raising and Pride Week Proclamation. Dignitaries, honoring of John Lee, and possible entertainment. Afterwards, march down to Bocca Café for coffee, cupcakes and conversation.

Saturday, June 20th. PRIDE DANCE. 8:30 pm – 1:00 am. Pleasant Valley Hall. (6100 Doumont Road) Our Premiere Event! The theme for this year is “Queer Through the Decades” and the color theme is rainbow colors. Wear something old or something new, whatever suits your fancy, rainbow theme if you can. No-host bar, food, entertainment from Ms. Vicky Smudge, and DJ Teresa will entertain and keep the dance music coming all night. Door prizes. Don’t miss out on the party of the year in Nanaimo. Tickets $15. Alcoholic Drinks $5.00. Water/Pop $1.00.
