About Murray Porter

Murray Porter is first and foremost a singer-songwriter, and the fact that he�s also a Mohawk from Six Nations of the Grand River Territory in southern Ontario has given him lots to write about. A gifted singer and pianist, Porter tells the aboriginal side of history with a feeling for the blues, a few touches of country, and lots of humour. For more than 30 years this well-travelled musician has played one-of-a-kind, footstompin� blues piano that has earned him comparisons to everyone from Dr. John to Joe Cocker. As one of his songs notes, he�s �a red man, singing the black man�s blues, living in a white man�s world!� Over the years he has shared the stage with everyone from B.B. King and the Neville Brothers to Marcia Ball and the Funk Brothers. His most recent CD, Songs Lived & Life Played, won a Juno Award in 2012 and is a lively testimonial to the joy and skill with which he makes music. About The 24th Street Wailers

Toronto-based blues-rockers, The 24th Street Wailers, are one of the hottest and hardest-working party bands in the country. They�ve only been together for five years, but have already released four albums and toured most of North America � and consistently left audiences begging for more.
