Victoria JazzFest presents Ian Shaw at Pacific Restaurant in the Hotel Grand Pacific.
Comparisons to Mark Murphy and Kurt Elling keep cropping up when you read about British jazz singer Ian Shaw, who has won several BBC Jazz Awards, amongst other honours. With several CDs to his credit, Shaw has played with everyone from Joe Lovano to Kenny Wheeler. His acclaimed 2006 album Drawn to All Things - the songs of Joni Mitchell saw him praised far and wide. In 2009, Shaw recorded his long-awaited solo album, Somewhere Towards Love, which continues to represent beautifully his increasingly popular solo shows. A gifted pianist, this superb vocalist will be performing solo for his debut performance in Victoria. www.ianshaw.biz
