Another in the series of Saturday Morning Workhsops hosted by the Victoria Genealogical Society. Join presenter Kathleen Lowe for the workshop on Project Management in Genealogy.
The primary challenge of any project is to achieve all the objectives. Although genealogy research can go on for years, it is still a project and should have goals and strategies for accomplishing them. Project management is defined as the process of planning, organizing, and controlling resources to achieve specific objectives. As such, project management methodologies can be applied to a genealogy research project. But what if you don’t know what your goals are, never mind how to achieve them? This workshop will discuss the project management tools that can help you define S.M.A.R.T. goals, carry out a SWOT (strengths- weaknesses-opportunities-threats) analysis, and create a plan. If you are working with other researchers, knowing your goals and having a plan can help them help you.
