Victoria Genealogical Society Workshop - Our traveling group have teamed up to provide insights into their personal research experiences in Salt Lake City, Ireland and Scotland. If you ever wondered if there was more to learn than what you can find on-line then this workshop is for you. Hear from these experienced travelers and they provide hints and tips about their travels that you will be able to use regardless of your destination.
Is a trip to the Family History Library in Salt Lake really worth your time and money? Where can you find actual records repositories in Ireland? What records are available in Scotland that you cant already get on-line using ScotlandsPeople? These questions and more will be answered as Heather, Mel and Merv have already opened these doors and used these facilities.
Why you should apply online for a membership card to the Scotland National Library in Edinburgh before you leave on your trip? Why you should take extra passport photos when visiting the Scotland National Archives? What happens if you didnt reserve a seat in the ScotlandsPeople Centre when you visit there? Where can you read microfilms of Scottish newspapers that arent yet digitized and available on-line? These are just a sampling of the types of hints and tips you will hear about for Scotland and the same experiences will be offered for Ireland and Salt Lake too. It doesnt matter where your destination is this workshop will give you lots of planning suggestions.
