Victoria Folk Music Society Presents: Tim Williams
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
A veteran of the roots music movement in North America, Tim Williams is a blues-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Since settling in Canada in 1970, he has thrived as a studio musician, producer, and performer at folk, blues, and jazz festivals, concert halls, and clubs across the country.
A master of acoustic and electric guitar, banjo, and mandolin, Tim is also fluent in the Delta bottleneck and bluegrass dobro techniques. His passion for traditional blues styles was fueled by seeing many fine musicians perform during the sixties blues boom. Tim went on to appear with several of these blues legends, including B.B. King, Queen Ida, John Hammond, Taj Mahal, and Buddy Guy.

Our feature act will be preceded by what is arguably Victorias best weekly acoustic Open Stage session where musicians from fledglings to professionals can perform a 10 minute set for one of the most welcoming, attentive and participative audiences in town.
Aspiring Open Stage performers can sign-up with the VFMS Host between 7:00 and 7:30pm to do a set but should get there early to improve their chances of getting on the evenings line-up.
