Based in Guelph, Ontario, Tannis Slimmon is a critically acclaimed musician who has been singing, writing songs, recording, and touring for over thirty years. "Full of gentle grace and unobtrusive dignity" (Penguin Eggs), her voice can be heard on more than eighty albums by artists such as Willie P. Bennett, Valdy, David Francey, and the Rheostatics. Tannis won Contemporary Vocalist of the Year at the 2008 Canadian Folk Music Awards with her sophomore album Lucky Blue, featuring songs and artwork influenced by her travels to West Africa and Cuba.
Joining Tannis to round out her act with his guitar and backup vocals is her partner, producer, and cowriter Lewis Melville.
"A breathtaking vocalist with a bright, angelic disposition, Slimmon is a favorite folk attraction whose harmonies are as warm as her smile" (Exclaim!).
