Rig-A-Jig is a band with a lot to offer. Their vocals are backed up by fiddle, banjo, guitar, bass and washboard rhythms making it the perfect band for an upbeat, fun time for everyone!
Known for playing upbeat Celtic music, Rig-a-Jig is a fixture of Victoria’s contra dance scene. The band is made up of Molly Raher-Newman (percussion, mandolin, lap dulcimer, voice), Ian Johnston (guitar, voice), Dave Klassen (bass, voice), Dick Pollard (fiddle, voice), and Karen Gillmore (flute, banjo, voice).

The feature act will be preceded by what is arguably Victoria’s best weekly acoustic Open Stage session where musicians from fledglings to professionals can perform a 10 minute set for one of the most welcoming, attentive and participative audiences in town. Aspiring Open Stage performers can sign-up with the VFMS Host between 7:00 and 7:30pm to do a set but should get there early to improve their chances of getting on the evening’s line-up.
