Melanie Dekker, the Dutch-Canadian, Vancouver-based songstress with a voice as sweet as chocolate, has opened for Diana Krall, performed for Bill Clinton, been awarded a military medal of excellence for her song �Fall in / Wounded Soldier,� played a Christmas concert for the troops in Afghanistan, and toured in Holland, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Finland, Austria, and Switzerland, as well as here in Canada. Her roots-pop sound is fresh and uplifting.

Melanie is joined for tonight�s performance by fellow Vancouverite David Sinclair, a guitar ace who has toured and recorded with the likes of Sarah McLachlan, k.d. lang, Michael Bubl�, and Bryan Adams.

Our feature act will be preceded by what is arguably Victoria�s best weekly acoustic Open Stage session where musicians from fledglings to professionals can perform a 10 minute set for one of the most welcoming, attentive and participative audiences in town. Aspiring Open Stage performers can sign-up with the VFMS Host between 7:00 and 7:30pm to do a set but should get there early to improve their chances of getting on the evening�s line-up.
