Victoria Folk Music Society presents: Lucille Drive
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
The Lucille Drive Band is made up of Lauri Gordon (vocals, guitar, percussion), Ed Timmermans (vocals, guitar, bass), Owen Davies (vocals, standup bass, mandolin), Tim Storm (vocals, banjo, guitar harmonica) and Brian Fraser (percussion, dobro, mandolin), all of whom share a love of “rootsy” music making. They perform an eclectic array of tunes from genres including folk, country, rock, and bluegrass, using expressive guitar, banjo, and bass lines, overlaid with layered vocal harmonies. No night would be complete without the audience’s help, so come prepared to lend your voices to popular covers flavoured with their own style, and join in on choruses from an original.
____________
Our feature act will be preceded by what is arguably Victoria’s best weekly acoustic Open Stage session where musicians from fledglings to professionals can perform a 10 minute set for one of the most welcoming, attentive and participative audiences in town. Aspiring Open Stage performers can sign-up with the VFMS Host between 7:00 and 7:30pm to do a set but should get there early to improve their chances of getting on the evening’s line-up.
