From the age of three, fiddler Ivonne Hernandez started playing everything from her mother�s favorite Maritime reels to her father�s Chilean folk music. Having honed her craft over the years, Ivonne is now the five-time and currently reigning Grand North American Fiddle Champion.

With his expressive vocals and energetic stage presence, the award-winning singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jeremy Walsh is on his way to becoming a Canadian folk-music legend. Aside from his many solo tours, Jeremy has fronted the Canadian Celtic band Scruj Macduhk and is a sought after accompanist.

As a duo, Ivonne and Jeremy have toured extensively and have recently released their album Live off the Floor, showcasing a chemistry and enthusiasm that studio recordings rarely convey. Get ready to tap your toes to some lively singing, fiddling, and step dancing!

Our feature act will be preceded by what is arguably Victoria�s best weekly acoustic Open Stage session where musicians from fledglings to professionals can perform a 10 minute set for one of the most welcoming, attentive and participative audiences in town. Aspiring Open Stage performers can sign-up with the VFMS Host between 7:00 and 7:30pm to do a set but should get there early to improve their chances of getting on the evening�s line-up.
